About Us
About Us
St John WA (SJWA) is a social enterprise committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of the WA community we serve. We provide a breadth of preventative skills and education, community health services and frontline emergency responders so we can be there to care for the people of WA, when they need it most. To provide these services to an area of 2.5 million square kilometres takes over 8,500 volunteers and paid team members. In addition, over 44,000 St John First Aid trained members of the public act as community first responders using SJWA’s First Responder App, helping to further reduce critical response times and improve patient outcomes.
The charitable arm of SJWA works in partnership with industry to fund programs that help bridge the health inequity gap experienced by vulnerable and remote communities across WA. These programs support three core areas of impact:
- Enabling the expansion of health and well-being programs to every corner of WA
- Increasing the capacity of WA communities to respond to medical emergencies
- Improving access and equity to essential health and first aid services for First Nations communities
The vision of SJWA for 2030 continues to be to connect everyone in WA with care, taking a legacy of more than a century into the future.
