PTS offers a quality and competitive service responding to pre-booked and on demand calls. We work in the public and private sectors, in partnership with local hospitals, medical centres and care facilities, as well as the general public.

A St John Ambulance Transport Officer role is more than just another job. This role requires compassion and a sense of community spirit while you deliver routine care and transportation for non-emergency patients to and from healthcare facilities, clinics and private residences.

The job role of an Ambulance Transport Officer includes:

  • Responding to non-emergency transport calls in a prompt, professional, and efficient manner
  • Communicating effectively and appropriately with patients, relatives, health professionals, and members of the public and other emergency services to ensure the best possible care for the patient is achieved

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge required

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Paramedical Science is highly regarded, a Diploma in Paramedical Science or Certificate III or IV in prehospital care is also desirable but not essential.
  • Current unrestricted ‘C’ or ‘CA’ class driver’s license with no more than 6 demerit points
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID0011)
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Display exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Uphold St John Ambulance values, policies, systems and procedures

Roster

Full-time Transport Officers will be required to work an average of 42.5 hours per week across 5 shifts of 8.5 hours each, Monday to Friday. Weekly hours compromise of 38 ordinary hours and 4.5 reasonable additional hours.
